Snail Mail Friends offers different membership plans to give you the best online experience for starting snail mail.
Our platform has no annoying ads or pop-ups and no external linking of your art. Depending on your membership plan, you can also keep track of all your swaps.

The Basic membership is free and allows you to explore the website and see if it meets your needs. When you are ready to begin swapping, you can upgrade to a Premium or Platinum membership to access the full features of Snail Mail Friends.

Our pricing is flexible, and no automatic monthly or annual subscription is required. You can upgrade any time you want, and if you decide to cancel your plan, you will be automatically downgraded to our Basic plan.

In addition to our membership plans, we also offer the option to purchase swap credits. These credits give you full flexibility and never expire (purchased credits never expire but are deducted with each use), allowing you to swap at your own pace without a long-term commitment. You can start by purchasing a minimum of 5 swap credits, making it easy to try out swapping without a fixed plan. This option is ideal if you're new to snail mail, want to stay active occasionally, or prefer not to commit to a 6-month Premium or 12-month Platinum plan. With your Basic account, you can buy as many credits as you like, tailored to personal swaps, random swaps, event swaps, or a mix—whatever suits your needs best!

The basic membership is a free plan; you can look around to see if Snail Mail Friends fits your needs. And when you are ready to start swapping, you can upgrade to a Premium or Platinum membership and get access to the rest of Snail Mail Friends.

Creating Snail Mail can be time-consuming when you make creative Snail Mail. Joining events and personal swaps can add up quickly without realizing you do not have enough time to complete them in time. And because we can't buy time, we have to prevent members from getting overwhelmed and getting behind on swaps. Therefore we have decided to limit Snail Mail to a certain amount to ensure Snail Mailing.

Please note: The Platinum membership plan has unlimited Snail Mail. In the event that Platinum members can't keep up with their outgoing Snail Mails, the Snail Mail Friends platform will temporarily suspend the option to join new swaps for the Platinum member. When the member has caught up with all of their committed swaps, they will be able to add new Snail Mails.
Basic Plan: As a member of Snail Mail Friends with a Basic (free) account, you're allocated a total of 20 free postcards. This is a one-time quota specific to the Basic plan. Once you've used these 20 postcards, the quota does not renew. If you send, for example, 5 postcards while on the Basic plan, you will have 15 free postcards remaining.

Upgrading to a Paid Plan: If you upgrade to a paid plan, like our Premium or Platinum packages, you'll use the postcard quota provided by that paid plan. During this time, your Basic plan's quota of 20 free postcards remains untouched and on hold.

Reverting to Basic Plan: Should your paid plan expire and you return to the Basic plan, you will resume using the remaining free postcards from your initial quota of 20. For instance, if you had sent 5 postcards under the Basic plan before upgrading, upon returning to the Basic plan, you will have 15 free postcards left to send.

Remember, the total of 20 free postcards in the Basic plan is a one-time offer and does not renew or replenish once used up. It's separate from the postcard counts of any paid plans and is not combined with them.
In the profile stories, you can share a short story with a photo of your artwork. All members have access to this feature, limited to 150 words for Basic members, 250 words for Premium members, and Platinum members up to 350 words.
Yes, you can. The Snail Mail event planner won't allow you to join events and swaps when your account expires. For example, Event X has a "send before" date on January 30th. If your plan ends on January 30th, you can still complete this swap. But you can't join the swap when the "send before" date is February 1st. If the "send before" date is outside your membership plan, you will not be able to join. You do have the option to early renew your plan. Incoming swaps can always be registered and rated because mail can take up to 60 days or more in some extreme cases.
If you decide the membership plan isn't for you, you do not have to renew your membership plan. After your current membership plan expires, your account is downgraded to a Basic account. We will save your data, but you will not be able to join any events or swaps.
