Can we get an email notification when a new swap event is posted?
Researchers found that 45 minutes of creative activity significantly lessens stress in the body.

Hi @9o96o,
We can make that a reality! We will keep you updated here once we have it available.

I will add that option later tonight. There will be an E-mail send when a new event will be created. I also will make an option so the user can decide if they want to receive that E-mail or not so people who don't care will be spammed. On it!

Another suggestion for consideration:
Could we get alerts when a favourite host (swap event coordinator) posts a new swap?
I hope you might consider this feature, especially for the future when there will be lots more hosts and swaps on the site making it easier to miss out when a particular host posts a swap.

I just build in a option that you will be notified by every new event. If I also build in a favourite host, you will get two notifications. One standard one, and also another one when your favourite host creates a new event. Thats a bit to much. How do you see this?

@9o96o, Thank you for creating a swap event! It looks like a lot of fun.
I also noticed that you added an image credit at the bottom of your description, which is a great way to give credit to the original creator. So we have added two additional fields to the event creation page, allowing users to input the name of the credits for the images they use and a link to their social media or website. Both fields are optional and will be displayed on the event page itself as a clickable link.Just wanted to let you know that I've updated the image credit on your event to make them more visible and easier to use for our members. Now, members can simply click on the credit link to access the original creator's website.
More info can be found here.

Another swap event suggestion:
When we get an email message that we've created a swap event there are no links back to the swap or to SMF.
Here's what it could look like with links:
Hi Rome, Thank you for creating a new event with name Easy handmade cut -and-paste postcard! What will happen next? Members will be able to join your event until Feb 24, 2023. The closing date for your event is Mar 06, 2023. The swap method you have chosen is a "random" swap. This means that the member will send out their swap to a selected member but will receive a swap from a different member (for more information, check the swap details). Members that have chosen "considering" will receive an email two days before the closing date to remind them if they would like to join. You have the option to delete a member from the swap. Please only choose this option if absolutely necessary. Once deleted, they will not be able to join again. When the event closes, the Snail Mail Friends server will match members and send the members notification. You will be able to see when members have sent out their swaps in the event swap details (only visible to you on the event page). Happy swapping!Anita - Snail Mail Friends

I'm enjoying this site and here is my feedback so far, as a mobile/tablet user:
I hope I don't come across too strongly. I appreciate all the work that has gone into this site so far! Thank you to the creators.
fishsteak wrote:I'm enjoying this site and here is my feedback so far, as a mobile/tablet user: I love the website snail logo. I'm happy we get 2 swap credits to start. I might be the only one with this strange opinion, but the use of stock images bugs me. It makes this website feel a little like a corporate company's website. I like seeing the mail art instead, or no images at all. On my tablet, the registration page kept refreshing or going blank. It would be useful to know what fields are required for me before I press submit and not have all my information filled out disappear. I also notice sometimes I can't click on dropdown boxes or buttons when using my tablet (iOS). Maybe I'm missing it, but I can't figure out how to see my profile homepage in one click. I changed my Home setting but it still looks like the main Home page. I'd love to click on my username at the top and view my profile like another member would. When filling out tags/interest/etc., it would be nice to see a whole list instead of starting to type to see what's available. What does Washi tape as a category mean? Does mean sending washi tape/samples or using it? For instance, would someone just add pictures of their washi tape to the art gallery? I see some minor typos in pages sometimes. Is there anywhere I can suggest fixes? I don't want to clutter up posts or threads. I hope I don't come across too strongly. I appreciate all the work that has gone into this site so far! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on using stock images on our website. We appreciate your feedback and understand that everyone has their own preferences.Regarding our decision to use payed stock images, we chose to use them because they add a professional and polished look to our website. When we started our platform, we found a few art images that fit the style we were looking for. We also appreciate the value of showcasing original artwork, such as the mail art you mentioned. We will certainly consider your feedback as we develop our website and look for ways to incorporate more original artwork. We also appreciate your feedback about the registration page refreshing or going blank on your tablet. We are investigating this issue to determine the cause and find a solution, but it's unknown to us now.In the meantime, we will consider your suggestion of providing clear guidance on which fields are required before submitting the form. We want to make the registration process as smooth and user-friendly as possible for all our users. I had some other plans tonight, but I will start with it immediately. (I'm working on a new game swap mode called Round Robin, but ssssssstt ) To help us better understand the issue with the dropdown boxes and buttons, please provide us with more details. Specifically, please give us an example of a dropdown box or buttons you're struggling with (think of a page and button option, etc.). It would also be helpful to know which (mobile) device and browser (including version) you are using so that we can try to reproduce the issue on our end. To view your own profile homepage, you can follow these steps:- Go to your dashboard by clicking "Dashboard" in the top navigation bar.- Click on "View My Dashboard" to access your dashboard.- On the left side of the dashboard, you should see an eye icon with the text "View as Member" next to it; click on it to view your profile homepage as another member would see it. About the tags. It'd be helpful to see a whole list of options without starting typing. We've added a feature where you can press a letter, showing you all the available options containing that letter. However, we can only add a few options to the dropdown menu because of space constraints, and it can be that not everyone like our prefixes. But don't worry; you can always add your own tags or interests by simply typing the word and pressing enter or comma. Washi tape is a distinct category for those who participate in washi swaps, where participants exchange different designs of washi tape. And it's displayed in the art gallery in this way. Washi tape is used as a medium for creating art. Therefore, it is typically displayed as a part of the artwork rather than just showing the tape's designs. However, you are welcome to show off your stash as well ^_^ Oh no, typos! We hate those too. We appreciate you wanting to help us with fixing them.We noticed you're using a mobile device, so we've enabled the feedback option on the left bottom of your screen (usually meant for larger displays) for you. This way, you can inform us about any typos or bugs you come across right from the page where they're located. The page name will be automatically sent along with your comment, so there's no need to add that. Just let us know about the typo or bug. There might be some translation errors since we're from The Netherlands and English isn't our primary language.
