In your swap tracker, you can find all your outgoing and incoming swaps. You can register and archive the swaps that arrive as expected.

What if a swap hasn't arrived?

If you notice that a swap hasn't arrived, whether it's an incoming swap you’re expecting or an outgoing swap you've sent, here are the steps to take:

  1. Check with your swap partner
    First, contact your partner to confirm if they’ve sent or received the swap. Sometimes, swaps are delayed, or a partner might have forgotten to send it. This initial communication can often resolve the issue.
  2. Give it time
    Sometimes, postal delays occur, especially for international swaps. Waiting a bit longer may be necessary before taking further action.

When should you resend?

  • After 45 days: A button will appear in your swap tracker to 'Send Reminder'. This period is intended to accommodate international mail delays. You can use this button to send a reminder to your partner, asking if they’ve sent or received the swap.
  • After 60 days (approximately 8.5 weeks): Snail Mail Friends will consider the swap lost, and a Resend Request button will become available. This allows you to initiate a resend request if the swap hasn’t arrived.

Important reminder for resending

If you need to resend a swap, do not create a new swap. Always use the original swap ID, especially if resending before the Snail Mail Friends time limits are met. It’s best to wait until the resend option becomes available. Once the resend button appears, clicking it will automatically create a swap under the same ID and mark it as a resend, allowing you to track the swap’s history easily.

It’s crucial to use reminders and resend requests if needed to keep both parties informed. If a resend request is denied, it will be reviewed by one of the Snail Mail Friends angels for further assistance.
